We’re Listening…

And we have encouraging news.

Over the past month, our team has interviewed donors from across the country to hear their perspective on the future of philanthropy in the midst of the worldwide pandemic. While responses varied, donors agreed that they’re becoming more comfortable with uncertainty. Instead of waiting on a more stable environment for decision-making, they’re moving forward and adapting to the ever-changing climate we’re all learning to navigate. This adaptability includes their giving strategy.

While some donors said they would still make the same commitments over an increased period of time, others said the timing would be an important factor. Many donors felt fall would be an appropriate time to visit with organizations about their gift as they consider their year-end giving strategy.

We were intrigued to learn that all donors we interviewed were STILL willing to make a gift. Donors continue to be committed to the non-profits they know and love, especially if those non-profits had adequately communicated their COVID-19 response in the last 4-5 months. Donors DO recognize the need now, more than ever before, and they’re willing to partner with organizations who are communicating, responding, innovating, and planning for the future.
